Should you have the 'problem' of accidentally making over $100k in a fiscal year with your software, you (and your team) will need to upgrade to a Unity Plus or Pro license depending on your financial threshold. If you are part of a legal entity or an established, budgeted organization / institution, the rules are different. The above only qualifies if you are an individual using Unity. To paraphrase, Unity's Personal License permits you to create applications with Unity as long as your software(s) developed with Unity gross less than $100,000 in any fiscal year (The time between now and the last twelve months). Select 'Add License' and get a personal one. In Unity Hub, open the drop down on the top left (next to the profile picture) and select 'manage licenses'. Once your account is made, you may notice that Unity Hub is telling you that you need a license. In order to use Unity, you will need to make a Unity ID Account and log into it through Unity Hub. It also allows you to create new projects and track existing ones, so you will use this app often to reopen your work! The application will allow you to download and manage multiple versions of Unity. Unity Hub is a sort of 'launcher' for Unity. Mac or Linux users may have slightly different interfaces when installing Unity. This guide is primarily tested on a Windows machine (10+). In this section, we will download Unity and some other necessary tools.
